Your class assignment is to use the link above and spend 10 minutes searching the various video clips, exhibits, and artifacts.

Please select 2 items that were interesting to you and write them down on an index card---that you picked up from the front of the room.

  2. I looked at the clothing and realized the woman have to wear a lot of layers. I also looked at the colonial tools. In the tools I saw a lot of items for wool and yarn activities. I also saw some muskets. -Avery Walden

  3. While looking at this website, I found out that a tape loom was a tool used to weave narrow stripes of cloth called "Tape."~~Elizabeth L.

    I thought the wheel that you spin wool into yarn was very interesting. I also thought that the "capot" was cool. The 'capot' was a french word for hooded coat.

    I looked at the clothing and the women always wore dresses. Both men and women dressed up nice back in the day. I also looked at the tools they used to have and it's very surprising to what we upgraded from then. Most of their tools are made out of rocks and wood.

  7. I look at the Screw Auger the tool was used to drill large holes in wood. the reason i that it was cool is that they did it by hand and we do it by machine.

  10. I was looking at some items and I saw some items that could be used to keep items safe. This item could keep papers like what type of guns,cannons and ships they used during this time. I also looked at What clothes the women that are higher class wore. These women had a lot of layers. There clothing was a lot nicer then the lower classmen.-Kayla W.

  22. While looking through this information I learned some cool things. One of the things I learned was that people in the 1600s though the 1800s wear many layers of clothing. Many females wore the first layer of clothing to bed, with nothing under.-Kaylin

  27. I noticed that people rarely washed their clothes or hair. Sometimes they wouldn't wash anything for months at a time. This is why women put their hair in buns all the time. -Ali

    I saw that there tools were basic and some of them I never even new about. I also saw that on all the papers that they wrote they had a cool font. I also saw that there clothes are way different there dresses are all puffy and big. This is just a cool thing I saw I saw that the chairs had cool designs

  34. I noticed that they used the flintlock Musket in some for the wars that have happened over time.Two is that they had to use the percussion Musket in the Civil War.-Jacob.s

  39. From 1666 to 1770 there was a rare selection in colored clothes and they had bland dresses.Then there is color from the 1800's until now.

    what I found interesting to me is that they can make 2,000 guns in a month. Also something I found interesting to me is that they where the larges manufacturers in the Civil War for America.
